The trans woman is being held in a solitary cell without a toilet or water, while her October 28 referral to forensic psychiatry remains unfulfilled.
The trans woman, who was arrested during operations carried out across seven provinces centred in Ankara on 23 October, is being denied access to healthcare. The trans woman, who suffered an episode while in detention, had her health condition reported to both the prosecutor’s office and the criminal judgeship of peace by her lawyers. However, despite these notifications, the trans woman was remanded in custody and is being held in Ward L4 of Ankara Sincan Prison.
A referral decision was issued on 28 October but has yet to be implemented
Following her arrest, the prosecutor’s office decided on 28 October to refer the trans woman for a forensic psychiatric examination. However, her lawyers stated that the referral decision has still not been implemented.
While prison authorities stated that the trans woman was being kept under observation, her lawyers reported that she continues to be held in a solitary cell containing only a bed, with no toilet or access to water.
